Current Opportunities:
Recreation Attendant
Salary: $8.25/hour
Benefits: Fitness Center Membership
Hours: 5-15 hours per week. Variable evening and weekend hours.
Job Requirements: Recreation Attendants needed to monitor the Park District's gymnasiums and/or playing fields during sporting events, open-gym sessions, or other activity. Duties include but are not limited to: checking for open gym passes, light maintenance, equipment set-up, working the score board if needed, monitoring safe and proper activity at outdoor playing fields, monitoring condition of equipment, ensuring good sportsmanship, responding to customer concerns and questions, and reporting accidents. Applicant must be self-motivated, work with minimal supervision and present a mature, professional and positive attitude.
Qualifications:
Self-Motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision
Mature, professional and positive attitude
Physical ability for lifting up to 30 lbs.
Valid Illinois Driver's License
Minimum Age 18
Custodian
Salary: $9.00 - $10.00/hour
Benefits: Fitness Center and Pool Memberships
Hours: 5:00pm-10pm. Various weekday and weekend shifts. 10-15 hours per week.
Job Requirements: We are looking for custodians who will take pride in maintaining the cleanliness of our indoor facilities. Our custodial staff provides general janitorial and light maintenance for all of our facilities. Duties include cleaning offices, locker rooms, rest rooms, and other areas of our facilities.
Qualifications:
· Previous custodial/building maintenance experience preferred.
· Ability to work with minimum supervision.
· Self-motivator and willingness to perform various tasks.
· Must be available to work weekends.
ActivKids Before and After School Instructors
Salary and Benefits:
Assitant Instructors - $8.25/hour - starting pay based on experience
Lead Instrucotrs - $9.00/hour - starting pay based on experience
Seasonal Fitness center membership
Hours: Monday thru Friday, or variable days 6:30 am to 9:00 am and afternoons from 3:30 to 6:30pm.
Job Requirements: Active, enthusiastic and caring individuals needed to care for children in the park districts' Before and After School Program. ActivKids operates at all District 93 Elementary Schools. Responsibilities include interacting with children, encouraging social growth, promoting Character Counts Philosophy, and leading children in activities such as craft projects, organized games (indoor & outdoor), along with set-up and clean up. Childrens ages range from kindergarten to 5th grade.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children preferred
- Patience, caring and enthusiasm are a must
- Ability to interact well with parents and children
- Minimum age 18 - Leads
- Minimum age 16 - Assistants
- CPR certification a plus
Dance Instructor Boys Hip Hop, House Dancing, and Stepping
Salary & Benefits: $13 - $17/hour (depending on qualifications). Free year round fitness center and seasonal pool usage.
Hours: Variable evening hours during the week as well as weekend hours.
Job Requirements: We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and creative individual to teach our Boys Hip Hop, House Dancing, and Stepping classes. As the Dance Instructor, you will be responsible for preparing course content and instructing class participants in these various types of dance. If you have a strong background in these areas and enjoy working with children, then this job is for you!
Qualifications:
Must have prior dance training as well as experience as a Hip Hop, House Dancing, or Stepping dance instructor.
Must have strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to interact with parents, children, and co-workers.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
First Aid and CPR Certification a plus
Minimum Age 18
Lead Gymnastics Instructor and Boys Coach
***This is not a seasonal position. We are looking for candidates who can work all year round.
Salary and Benefits: $9 - $11/hour based on experience
