Accounting Clerk

Salary and Benefits: $10-11/hour
                        Fitness center membership and pool pass 

Hours:   Variable hours Monday-Friday
              (10-15 hours a week)

Job Requirements:   The Accounting Clerk performs a variety of accounting duties to ensure efficient and effective operation of the District's financial services.   This position is responsible for maintaining records on all write-off checks, account registration adjustments, weekly/monthly journal entries, monthly electronic transfers, assisting with budget preparation and audits.

Qualifications:

· High School diploma required, some college preferred.

· Minimum 3 years of financial experience.

· Previous experience working with confidential information preferred.

· Must have a valid Illinois Driver's License.

                                                                                        

Before Care Instructors

Salary and Benefits:   $8/hour                                          Seasonal Fitness center membership          

Hours:   Variable mornings M-F 6:30 am- 9:00 am

Job Requirements:   Enthusiastic and caring individuals needed to care for children in the park districts' Before School Day Care Program.   Program operates at all District #93 Elementary Schools.   Responsibilities include interacting with children, encouraging social growth, promoting Character Counts Philosophy, and leading children in activities such as craft projects, organized games (indoor & outdoor), along with set-up and clean up.   Children's ages range from kindergarten to 5 th grade.

Recreation Attendant

Salary and Benefits:   $8/hour
Seasonal Pool and Fitness center membership       

Hours:   Monday - Friday 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Job Requirements:   Recreation Attendants needed to monitor open Gym Basketball at Simkus Recreation Center.   Duties include but are not limited to: checking for open gym passes, light maintenance, equipment set-up, and monitoring safe and proper activity.   Additional responsibilities include monitoring condition of equipment, ensuring good sportsmanship, responding to customer concerns and questions, and reporting accidents.   Applicant must be self-motivated, work with minimal supervision and present a mature, professional and positive attitude.

 

Qualifications:

Coral Cove Aquatics Staff - Summer 2010

We are currently accepting applications for our Coral Cove Aquatics Facility.  We are hiring Lifeguards, Deck Attendants, and Swim Instructors. Minimum age 16.

Salary and Benefits:  Starting salary $8.25/hour
                                   Seasonal Pool and Fitness Center usage

Applicants must be responsible, reliable, and demonstrate the ability to provide excellent customer service.

*All Aquatics staff will be required to purchase a uniform and/or Swimsuit. (cost up to $50)

*Newly hired Lifeguards will be required to obtain Lifeguard Certification which will be completed through the Park District once you are hired. The cost of this certification is $50.

*All Aquatics staff will complete CPR/AED training through the Park District. 

*Additional mandatory training will also be held throughout the summer.

Summer Camp Counselors

Lead Counselors (Min. Age 18)       
Assistant Counselors (Min. Age 17)
Junior Counselors (Min. Age 16 - LIMITED POSITIONS AVAILABLE)

Position Description:  Our camps are designed to encourage social growth, promote the Character Counts Philosophy, and most of all, to provide a fun summer filled with memorable activities! Summer Camp participants range from entering 1st through 5th grades; Teen Camp participants range from entering 6th through 9th grades; Camp on the Go participants range from entering 1st through 4th grades. Camp activities include sports, crafts, games, outdoor activities, science and nature, swimming and field trips.

Job Functions: 

• Plan, organize, implement, & evaluate daily camp activities
• Set-up & clean-up activities
• Supervise participants, ensure safety, enforce rules, and resolve problems
• Effectively communicate with staff, campers, and parents
• Counselors must be creative & enthusiastic; caring, mature, & responsible; and energetic & willing to participate in activities
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience working with children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• CPR/AED Certification is a plus
• Minimum ages listed above
• Applicants are preferred to be available for the entire camp season: June 14-August 20, 2010
• Counselors ages 21 and older may be responsible for the transportation of participants and must complete & pass a driver's abstract
