Parks (Amenities by Site)
The Carol Stream Park District has a variety of parks, pavilions, and sports fields located throughout the community. Check the chart below for the amenities, which vary by site, available for your enjoyment. Each site's particular amenity can be reserved for private use and are available for rent by the public throughout the year. We also have a Water Park and a Miniature Golf Course that can be rented by groups. All basketball, baseball, softball, cricket, soccer & football fields, pavilions (picnic shelters), and sand volleyball courts are available for rent.

Bierman Park

Bierman Park & Heritage Lake

Bierman is a beautiful 40 acre park overlooking the peaceful Heritage Lake. The park includes two playgrounds for both tots and youth. There is a large gazebo that can be rented for large gatherings. The park includes two basketball courts and a soccer field.

Bierman Park also offers paths around Heritage Lake for walking, biking or rollerblading. For a peaceful afternoon, throw a fishing pole in the lake and see what you catch.

Blue Heron Park
Blue Heron Neighborhood Park

Blue Heron is a neighborhood park located in the Cambridge Walk subdivision. It has a gazebo that overlooks a wetland where you will often see the Blue Heron gathering. The park includes two playgrounds for both tots and youth. The pathway in the park is marked like a street for the tots to practice their street safety skills on their Hot Wheels or Tricycles.

Cambridge Park is a seven acre park located in northern Carol Stream. The park includes a baseball/softball field, a playground and swings. The park is also used as a practice site for our youth soccer program.

There is a ¼ mile path through the park from Woodhill Drive to Buckingham.

Community Park Shared Neighborhood Park

Community Park is a 68 acre park located in the far south east corner of Carol Stream. This is a joint park that is shared by Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn and Wheaton Park Districts. The park includes two baseball fields, several basketball courts, tennis courts and soccer fields. There are pathways for walking and picnic shelters to rent for family outings.

Evergreen Lakes Park

Evergreen Lakes Park is a 14 acre park that includes Evergreen Lake. The lake is great for fishing and boating.

The lake has been shoreline restored in order to prevent the deterioration of this shoreline. There are many native plantings surrounding the lake.

Hampe Park

Hampe Park is a lovely 22 acre park site with many amenities. This park is named for Norm Hampe who severed as our Park Board Commissioner. There are three soccer fields, a rentable picnic shelter with restrooms, several playgrounds and a skate park called X-Tream SK8T.

Jan Smith Park

Jan Smith Park Native Plant Museum

Jan Smith Park is a four acre native plant museum. It includes a small outdoor museum garden of native prairie plants. Each fall, on the annual harvest day, local gardeners collect the seeds and take them home to use in their gardens. Tours are available for groups. Volunteers are always needed for weeding and caring for the gardens during the growing season. If you would like to volunteer please call Jan Smith at (630)653-3958.

Mitchell Lakes is a linear park that includes two lakes. It has a 1 mile asphalt path the weaves around both lakes. The Park was named after Fred Mitchell who was one of the first park commissioners. The entire site is 23 acres. The lakes are great for fishing.

Weeks Park

Weeks Parks are named after Gerald Weeks, a former Chairman of the DuPage County Board of Commissioners. These two park sites total 17 acres. Both East and West include ponds that are great for fishing and boating. In Weeks West there is a great sled hill for some winter fun. There is currently a small tot lot in Weeks West that will be replaced with a larger playground in the full of 2007.
