The park district preschool program helps children develop
pre-kindergarten skills including letter and name recognition,
listening, health habits, cooperative play, fine motor skills
and socialization skills. The classes are structured around
academic and holiday themes that will enhance learning and
fun. The experiences are both educational and recreational,
which aid in social, physical, intellectual and emotional
growth.
To register, obtain a preschool registration form online or stop in to any of our facilities to register. A preschool
registration form must be submitted along with:
- 1) a
copy of a birth certificate
- 2) your first payment.
- By registering your child in the 3-year-old program, you will be given priority registration for the same class time for the 4-year-old program.
- Children must
be of the appropriate age required for each program.
- A
current immunization form will be required for all students
before the first day of attendance.
- All children must
be able to take care of their own bathroom needs. Pull-ups,
plastic pants and diapers are not acceptable.
- Tuition
may be paid in full at time of registration for
a discounted rate. If tuition is not paid in full, a monthly
payment plan is available. Monthly payments are due
September – March.

Monthly payments are due the first of each month for the Preschool Program. Full payment due at registration—current month, last month and registration fees. Payment amounts already include discounts for school holidays, breaks and non-attendance days. Registration fees will be waived and a 10% discount will be applied if tuition is paid in full at time of registration.
Children must be 3 years old by September 1, 2007
The 3 year-old program is designed for your child's first learning experience and to prepare them to naturally transition to the 4 year-old program. Our program will stress social skills, colors, shapes, fine motor skills, name recognition, following directions, sharingand cooperative play. Children will explore their community through local field trips.

Our program will stress the development of independence and academic skills through learning centers, structured activities, math concepts, lower and upper case letters and letter sound recognition. Children will explore their community through local field trips.

This five-day program is especially designed for the more advanced, mature 4-year old who has had at least one year of preschool experience and turned four by June 1, 2007. Children will prepare for kindergarten curriculum and develop self-confidence as they focus on beginning writing skills, story comprehension, math concepts, scientific problem solving and story dictation. Children will explore their community through local field trips.

- Develop and maintain program curriculum, including craft
projects, color/letter/number sheets, story time, and music
time.
- Plan and implement program lessons and activities while
initiating and pursuing innovative new trends.
- Supervise Assistants/Substitute Teachers and equipment maintenance
including set-up, take down and sanitation.
- Create and distribute monthly activity calendars and and
newsletters.
- Organize and become familiar with any special health/behavior
needs on information/emergency forms.
- Operate and plan curriculum within yearly supply budget.
- Maintain and promote excellent customer service relations
and open communication with students, parents and other affiliates.
- Maintain inventory of all necessary supplies.
- Continue education on new issues, procedures and techniques.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all general and department
safety rules. Enforce safety rules and improve public and
employee knowledge by preventing, confronting and correcting
unsafe behavior.
- Follow, administer and implement district policies, guidelines
and crises management.
- Perform other related duties and/or special projects as
assigned.
Education: Associate’s Degree or any equivalent of
education and experience.
Experience: Minimum 2 years related experience
Skills: Strong leadership skills. The ability to interact
with all levels of employees, students, and parents. Must
have a strong ability to effectively communicate both orally
and written. Must be highly motivated and enthusiastic, able
to work independently, detail oriented and posess ability
to process information effectively and accurately. Must interact
well with child and display patience and creatvity in daily
activities.
Equipment: Computer and other office such as fax, calculator,
telephone, etc. and recreational/educational equipment.
