Adult Sports

Get active, make new friends, and learn new skills with adult sports classes.

Winter sports classes include:

 

Archery

Learn the Olympic Sport of Archery. Course is taught by Ken Walther, Regional High Performance Coach with USA Archery. All equipment is provided. Learn how to safely participate in the sport that will last a lifetime.

Boxing

Learn boxing stance and footwork techniques, defensive maneuvers, rhythm, nutrition, punch combinations and self-defense techniques. Mouth guards & hand wraps strongly recommended. Items available for purchase at Hanover Park Park District front desk. No experience needed. This class is held at the Hanover Park Park District, 1919 Walnut Ave, Hanover Park, IL 60133.

Fencing

Learn the Olympic sport of fencing from a former World Cup competitor. You will learn the fine art of fencing, step-by-step, from beginner to advanced. Equipment provided. Families are encouraged to participate together! This class is held at 250 Civic Center Plaza, Glenbard Heights, IL 60139

Superstar Karate

Teaching curriculum is based on self-discipline, respect and goal setting. Increase your physical capabilities and broaden your self-defense skills. All classes are taught by Superstar Karate's certified black belt instructors. Please note that the Youth and Adult classes will train together. This program is held at SuperStar Karate located at 496 E. St. Charles Rd. Carol Stream, IL 60188.

Karate

Classes are taught by instructors of the Illinois Shotokan Karate Club under the direction of John DiPasquale, four time National Champion, U.S. Karate National Coach. Beginner students will not be permitted to register into the current session after the second class has met. Registration for continuers through advanced students will be accepted after the start date, but full class fee will be required. *Please note that the Youth, Parent/Child and Adult classes will train together.

Tennis

Group classes are a great way for beginners and intermediate level players to develop. Participants must bring own racket. Class times may be adjusted based on registration. This class is held at the Hanover Park Park District, 1919 Walnut Ave, Hanover Park, IL 60133.

Floor Hockey Open Gym

Play floor hockey against other adults in a fun, open gym setting. Teams will be decided each week and players will self-officiate. Please bring your own protective gear, sticks, and a dark and light shirt. Floor Hockey Open Gym is held at Evergreen Gym

 

Adult Sports Tournaments

Early Bird Softball Tourament - Sunday, April 25

Join us for this one day Softball Tournament. Prepare your team to have some fun before the spring season begins. Teams will compete in a double elimination format for prizes. Armstrong Park, 9am-10pm.

Wiffle Ball Tournament - Sunday, May 2

If you loved wiffleball as a kid, get ready to take your favorite backyard game to a new level! Sign up as a team of three to five adults, teens, family members, or friends. This spring tournament will provide a minimum of three games in a round robin tournament. Teams will receive t-shirts. The top teams will advance to win cash prizes. Armstrong Park, 8am-6pm.
