Swim Lessons
The Bartlett Park District’s (BPD) swim lesson program is for swimmers of all ages. On the first day of lessons parents will receive a parent manual which explains each of the levels in depth. Due to the limited amount of space on the pool deck, parents will be asked to sit in the bleachers or viewing area. For those who have already been BPD swim lesson program, please sign your child up for lessons according to a previous swim lesson report card.
Before registering for a swim lesson, review your child’s previous lesson history and age limitations of class.For swimmers who participated in 2012 summer Sammy Starfish Swim School, please register your swimmer for lessons according to Swim Lesson grid below

Classes fill quickly and transferring from one level to another is not always possible. If you have questions, please ask at the Registration Desk. Registration will close three business days prior to the start of the class. No refunds or make-ups will be given for classes missed or forgotten. The park district reserves the right to combine class levels if deemed appropriate.

What to bring
• Swim suit already on child

What not to bring
• Swimming aids such as lifejackets, water wings or flippers
• Snorkel masks that cover the nose
On the first day…
Please arrive 15 minutes early for first day check-in. Guardians may either wait for their swimmers in the bleachers or the viewing room. Please stay for the entire swimmer’s class, in case of emergency where consent is required.
Swim Lessons are held at Coral Cove Water Park during the summer.
Summer Swim Team
Dolphins Swim Team
Swim team is one of the best summer activities for healthy, outdoor exercise. It develops strong swimming skills, and the practices and competitions make it fun! The camaraderie of being on a team builds self-confidence and lasting friendships.
The Dolphins Swim Team is a volunteer based program for youth who want to join the world of competitive swimming. Coaches develop all swimmers and everyone gets to compete against 12 other park district swim teams in the DuPage Swim and Dive Conference (DSDC).
Practices are held at the Coral Cove Water Park beginning the first week of June through the last weekend in July. Swim Meets take place on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings.
2013 Dolphins Swim Team Parent & Swimmer Meeting: May 8, 6:30pm at the Simkus Recreation Center
The swim team parents are responsible for the operations of the team outside the pool area. To make the team a success all parents are expected to volunteer to assist in running the swim meets. New and returning Dolphins Swim Team parents and swimmers are requested to attend the informational meeting to learn more about swim team season practices, seasonal swim meets, volunteer requirements,, additional team fees and meet the coaching staff.

Pre-Season Dolphins Swim Team Stroke Clinic
Prepare for the upcoming Dolphins Swim Team season and improve stroke mechanics. Swimmer will be tested the first day of the clinic and grouped with swimmers of equal ability. All swimming abilities between the ages of 6-18 welcome; participants will be tested and divided into groups on the first day. Stroke Clinic is held in the spring prior to season start. Dolphin Swim Team parents are needed to volunteer at both home and away meets. Swim Team volunteer Certified Timers are mandated by DuPage Swim and Dive Conference (DSDC) at each swim meet. Certify Timer Training schedule is posted on Dolphins Shutterfly private team site calendar: www.dolphinswimteam.shutterfly.com . The certification training costs $5.
The DSDC rules state that a swimmer has to compete in a minimum of 4 swim meets to qualify for conference.
2013 Dolphins Swim Team Coahcing Staff
Head Coach: Troy Murray
Coach Murray comes to us with a diverse swim team coaching background and experience. He began his coaching career with the Lancer Boys’ swim team, followed by Roselle Racers swim team, started the swim team program at Chicago Hope Academy in Chicago, assisted with the Elgin/Larkin High School girls co-op swim team and is the current head coach for Glenbard North/East boys’ co-op swim team. Coach Murray has worked with swimmers at varying skill levels; from helping develop the skills of beginning swimmers to taking swimmers to the IHSA state meet. Welcome Coach Murray to the Dolphins Swim Team!
Assistant Coach: Ian Fisher
Coach Fisher has been a competitive swimmer since age 10 on park district, club and high school swim teams. He added the Dolphins Swim Team to his coaching resume in 2012 and has been part of the Carol Stream Park District swim lesson program staff since 2011. Coach Fisher is attending DePaul University, majoring in honors accounting. Random Fact About Coach Fisher: “My favorite race was the 500 yard freestyle.” What is yours?
