Recreation Center Update – Nov 2012

The Fountain View Recreation Center is being to take shape. Workers currently on site include masonary, electrical and plumbing crews, work is continuing on the roof and geothermal systems, and the swimming pool area (natatorium).

A large portion of the parking lot landscaping is also complete. The parking lot has been constructed with permeable pavers, which have numerous long term benefits and cost savings.  As opposed to black top surfaces, which contribute to flooding and pollution problems, permeable pavers can capture water runoff, absorb it and clean it during the process, which can help reduce flooding and pollution from storm water run off. The use of permable pavers has also enabled the Park District to receive a grant from the DuPage County Storm Water Management division.
