Costumes & Accessories

All performers must arrive in their costumes ready to go. Information on what to wear is handed out in class. Additional accessories and costume pieces are handed out the week leading up to the performance.

Many costume pieces and accessories belong to the Carol Stream Park District and need to be returned. Items are collected immediately after the performance.

If you are in multiple dances, review the show order and arrive dressed in the first costume.

Upon arrival, dancers should go to their assigned room. Parents are not allowed in the program rooms. Parents and guests should proceed to the gym, entering through the east doors near the front desk. Families should not enter the event until their full group is present in order to assist our admissions staff. Attendees without a paid ticket are not permitted to enter. Face coverings worn over the nose and mouth are required for everyone age 2 and older at all times. Dancers and guests should not attend this event if experiencing any COVID symptoms or if required to quarantine due to a COVID exposure.

During the Performance

All attendees should remain seated during the performance.

Flash photography should not be used.

Cell phones should be silenced.

Dancers return to their program room after their performance.

For the Twinkle Toes class, one parent should meet the instructor at the gym doors after the performance so that these dancers can return to their seats in the audience rather than returning to the program room.

Out of courtesy to our dancers and staff, we ask that you do not leave during the show. If you have a disruptive child do exit the gym.

After the Show

All guests should depart the gym immediately after the conclusion of the show. The gym is reset directly after the performance.

If you’d like to take group photos with your family, we ask that you do so outside of Simkus Recreation Center as we prepare for the next set of attendees to arrive.

Only one parent should return to their dancer’s assigned room for pick-up. The rest of your group should wait outside of the facility.

Parents should line up outside your dancer’s assigned room. Instructors release dancers in the order parents arrived. Parents are not allowed in the program rooms.

Parents should ensure that the costume pieces, accessories, and props are returned to staff before departure and not taken home.
