UPDATED 3/23/2020 – Frequently Asked Questions of your Park District

Our community has presented many questions to the Carol Stream Park District in regards to the closure of our facilities due to COVID-19.  Following is a list of Frequently Asked Questions and answers:

  • Is the Fitness Center open?
    All facilities, including fitness center, are closed tentatively until May 10.
  • Are the outdoor parks open?
    All parks and walking trails remain open to the public. PLAYGROUNDS ARE CLOSED, per State mandate.
  • Will I get a refund for my programs or memberships?
    Staff is working on contingency plans for rescheduling programs and activities, issuing pro-rated credits, and extending memberships where possible. Information on potential refunds or credits has been communicated via email, social media links, and it is on this website. If you have not seen this information, email info@csparks.org and tell us how you would like this information sent to you.
  • Why is the District taking such drastic steps?
    Staff acted on the guidance of the CDC and other public health officials. Because most of our programs and facilities are large public gathering places, we felt these temporary closures were in the best interest of public health.
  • When will a decision be made regarding future events and programs?
    The Park District will be monitoring the developments closely and will decide on reopening Park District facilities and programs on a week-to-week basis. As additional information becomes available, we will post updates on our website, social media outlets – Facebook and Twitter, and via email.
  • What if I think I was exposed to someone who may have COVID-19?
    If a member of your family contracts the COVID-19, contact Christine Quinn, Superintendent of Human Resources and Risk Management at 630-784-6152 or christineq@csparks.org, and let her know the person’s name, the date COVID-19 was diagnosed, the facility visited or programs attended by the individual.
