Auditions April 14-15
The Carol Stream Park District offers a vibrant and growing theatre program for youth ages 6–17, welcoming performers of all experience levels. Each year, the program produces two seasons with multiple casts and up to four performances per production, giving more participants the opportunity to shine on stage. Past shows have featured beloved favorites such as Disney’s Mary Poppins, The Lion King, Seussical, Aladdin, Mulan, High School Musical, and Frozen, showcasing talent through acting, singing, and dance.
The program also includes Small Fall, an expanded production opportunity open to ages 10 through adult. Residents and nonresidents are welcome to participate.

Summer 2026 Theatre Production:
Seussical The Musical Jr.
The story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!
Small Fall Theatre Productions offer a unique opportunity for performers ages 10 through adult to share the stage together—making it a true family theatre experience. Designed for teens, adults, and even parents who want to participate alongside their children, Small Fall blends creativity, collaboration, and community into one welcoming production.
This program emphasizes inclusive casting, ensemble storytelling, and the joy of live performance, regardless of prior experience. Participants develop skills in acting, movement, and stage presence while building confidence and meaningful connections across generations. Whether you’re stepping on stage for the first time or returning to theatre after years away, Small Fall provides a supportive environment where everyone plays an important role.
Our Theatre Camps and Workshops introduce young performers to the magic of the stage through age-appropriate classes and hands-on experiences. Preschool workshops (ages 3–5) focus on movement, music, and imaginative play inspired by popular stories, while older participants (ages 6–14) build confidence through vocal warmups, acting exercises, theatre games, and choreography. Select camps also explore behind-the-scenes roles such as directing, set design, props, and choreography, giving students a well-rounded look at how a production comes together. Many sessions conclude with a mini-performance, allowing participants to shine on stage and celebrate what they’ve learned.
