Carol Stream Parks Foundation – Bike Club

Carol Stream Parks Foundation Bike Club. 11 years and still biking strong!

The Carol Stream Parks Foundation Bike Club was established in 2014. Recreational bike riders of all levels are welcome. Join us for as many rides on our schedule as you wish.

All rides leave from the Simkus Recreation Center at 6pm on the 2nd Thursday and 9am on the 4th Saturday starting the end of April through October. Club members may participate in as many rides as their schedule allows. Thursday rides will be shorter and slower paced around 8–12-miles, while Saturdays will be longer covering twenty or more miles. When possible, rides will be split into two groups (slow and fast)

Rides take place on off-road bike paths. Carol Stream is unique because it has bike trails in every direction, including ones that connect to the Great Western Trail and Prairie Path. Rides include round trips to destinations in Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, West Chicago, Bartlett, Medinah, Bloomingdale, West Chicago, and beyond.

In case of inclement weather rides will be cancelled 1-1/2 hours before the scheduled departure via email.

Bike helmets and lights are strongly encouraged. Ride single-file, with caution when encountering pedestrians and other riders. We ride as a group and no riders are left behind. Class 1 E-Bikes are welcome, as long as they follow the park district rules when riding on Carol Stream paths. Carol Stream Park District does not allow Class 2 and Class 3 E-Bikes on their paths. See Carol Stream Park District Ordinance 411 Section 32 for more details.
