Walter Park Renovations begin!

Starting February 22, 2024, you will see construction fencing going up. Existing site amenities will be removed such as steel fencing and the parking lot. Then we start moving earth. For Walter Park neighbors, thank you for your cooperation and patience. Walter Park Renovation update 11/1/2023:

The Walter Park contract was approved on Monday, September 25 by the Board of Commissioners. A pre-construction meeting is planned for November with a late Fall start date. Anticipated completion of this project is scheduled for late Spring/early Summer of 2024. The project includes a new pickleball court, walking trail, new playground with synthetic turf protective surfacing, new parking lot and a regraded field to improve drainage on the site. Walter Park is a six-acre park named after Gerald Walter, who was one of the first Park Commissioners for the Carol Stream Park District.
