Jirsa Park Playground Resurfacing begins May 2

Starting the week of May 2, the protective surfacing at Jirsa Park is being changed from engineered wood fiber (wood chips) to a complete synthetic playground system, similar to Carolshire, McCaslin and Armstrong Parks. The process may take a full week (weather dependent).

There are many advantages of having a synthetic playground surface. Here’s just a few:

• Soft, compliant surface under play equipment (few scraped knees)
• Accessibility for all people
• Cleaner play environment
