What's Happening

Specific Park/Amenity Closures

Posted on April 2, 2020

UPDATE: Bark Park and Horizon Park are open – 6/1/2020
April 2, 2020
Dear Carol Stream Park District Members and Customers:
In order to prevent COVID-19 from spreading, and in the effort to keep groups of 10 or more from congregating, we have made the decision to close specific parks or park amenities.
  • Basketball Courts/Hoops at ALL PARKS – CLOSED
  • Inline Skate Court at Armstrong Park – CLOSED
  • Skate Park at Hampe Park – CLOSED
PARKS
Parks will remain open at this time excluding those mentioned above. I encourage you to take a walk, ride your bike, get fresh air. If you visit one of our parks, you must follow the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations of practicing safe social distancing, keeping a 6-foot distance from others and staying home if you are sick. Note that park restrooms are not open at this time. Parks staff continue to pick up garbage on Mondays and Fridays.
PLAYGROUNDS ARE CLOSED – All playgrounds are CLOSED until further notice as directed by the State of Illinois. If you see people congregating on a playground, call the police.
Again, the Carol Stream Park District thanks you for your continuing patience and understanding during this unprecedented time. We know it is hard, it is confusing, and it’s surreal. The best we can all do is take precautions and stay healthy. We will forge through this but we must do it together.
Be a Good Human and stay safe!
Respectfully,
Jim Reuter
Executive Director
Carol Stream Park District
